Here, you risk up to 18 months in jail or a fine of up to $10000 or double the victim’s loss (whichever is greater) or both.However, for third-degree crime that involves property worth over $500 but less than $75,000, you may get a prison term of three to five years or a fine not exceeding $15,000 or double the victim’s loss (the greater of the two), or both. Second-degree theft for property valued at over $75,000 is punishable by five to ten years in prison, with similar fines to third-degree charges.
